ParticipantThanks, Lynda – the vacation will be active and stressful (Disney + College visits)…so I will skip week 11 and move on to week 12. If I feel good, should I pick up week 11?

ParticipantI should add that after the Base plan, I plan to do the Masters 100 mile PR plan in prep for the Lumberjack 100 on June 17.

Now I have those character-building 30/30s to look forward to later this week 🙂

ParticipantLynda – thanks for a very detailed response.
Great point on dropping weight – the extra ~8 points I’m carrying has definitely been my limiter this past year.

ParticipantThank-you, Lynda. Great advice as always.

ParticipantThank you, Lynda. I've started doing dumbbell power cleans, and they are working for me. I just don't have the coordination to do it with a bar…should have stuck with those dance classes

I'm in week 2 of the plan you recommended and have a few questions:
1. I have not been doing strength training as part of my regular routine over the past few years. My attempts at the prescribed strength workouts left me concerned that I might injure myself – should I simply dial back the load and increase the reps to allow my body to adapt…or follow a different routine?
2. We're having a patch of weather that has made the trails essentially unrideable. I'm assuming it's okay to sub with an equivalent road ride is okay. Is it okay to switch the Saturday/Sunday ride to fit in with the weather's schedule? Your views on using the indoor trainer?

Thanks,
