MemberLW,
I am in week 3, day 3, of your 100 mile finisher program and have a four day ski trip during the end of week 4 (days 4-7) which is where the long rides are located.

Lynda
Downhill (resort) skiing, 4-6 hrs a day with a lot of chairlift time.

KeymasterSkiing 4-6 hours per day will be plenty exercise. You are early enough in your plan that cross training is ok. Drop the rides on the days you will be skiing. Continue on with the plan when you get back.

KeymasterKirk,
If you are skiing for 5-7 days, take a week off plan and move the rest of the plan one week forward.

KeymasterMove both of these workouts to another day. These are both key sessions.
Week 1: Move both day 6 and 7 back a day and double up day 5 and 6 workouts on the same day.
Week 2: Move day 4 back to day 3 and drop the original day 3 session.

KeymasterIf you are going to miss everything, take a week off plan.

I'm on the Cat 1 build peak race plan, on week 7 (next week) I'll be on vacation hiking in Utah. Should I just pick up on week 8 when I return? I started the plan such that I would peak for a early Nov race. I still need to be ready for that race.

KeymasterHow tired will you be at the end of your vacation? Is it a strenuous hike trip or a drive to view points and stroll type trip?

ParticipantMostly likely 4 to 5 day hikes that are 3-6 hours long. Typically my legs might be sore but not much cardio. Traveling home on the weekend. Planning on a ride or B/C race the Sunday after I return

KeymasterPicking it back up on Week #8 when you return is the best plan.

ParticipantThanks
Going to try to rent a bike in Zion for a day or two – hopefully get a couple
of good workouts in.

KeymasterOver The Edge Bikes in Hurricane is a first class shop and will set you up with a quality mtb rental. They have trails maps too. Go ride Gooseberry Mesa, the J.E.M. Trail or Little Creek Mountain. All are world class. If you have to choose only one, ride Gooseberry – it's amazing! I'm riding Gooseberry and camping up there this weekend 🙂
