ParticipantHi Lynda,
I was wondering what is the best approach for my winter training. I have several 50-70 mile races lined up next year. I was thinking of maybe doing the “Winter Training Plan for Endurance Distance Mountain Bikers”, but it looks like it's more for those who do 100 milers and more. I've been having a good time with cyclocross this year so I'd like to extend it into December, take two weeks off, do three weeks from my “100 km Marathon Mountain Bike Race Personal Record Training Plan”, take a week off after that, and than do the whole plan to be ready for my first race. My question is would it be more beneficial for me to do the “Winter Training Plan for Endurance Distance Mountain Bikers” even though it's for longer distances and skip the rest of cyclocross season, or to stick to my cyclocross plan? Also, what three weeks would be best from my “100 km Marathon Mountain Bike Race Personal Record Training Plan” if I go with that route? Thanks!

KeymasterNathan,
I recommend finishing your cx season, take two weeks off, do three weeks from your “100 km Marathon Mountain Bike Race Personal Record Training Plan”, take a week off after that, and then do the whole plan to be ready for your first race. Follow weeks 1 – 3 of the plan if you go that route.
