ParticipantHi there,
I hope you can help.
My target race is the Pivot 24/12 on 28th July so lots of time to prepare and wondering what would be the best stack of plans? I raced my first 24 hour last year as a team of 4 but 2 of us fancy riding as a pair for even more of a challenge.
I will fit in a few XC races in the Vet class here in the UK before Pivot but I am currently feeling unfit after being ill for a few weeks and I am in de-training mode at the moment due to lack of hours.
Current FTP is around 270/3.5 watts per kg.
My team mate is racing Lanzarote Iron Man in May and will be good form so need to up my game before the summer!
Your help appreciated in how best to start my training using your plans.
Many thanks, Dave

KeymasterHi Dave,
Pivot 24/12 looks like a great race.
I recommend you start Feb 5th with our 12-week Masters 40+ Mountain Bike Base Mountain Bike Training Plan
April 30th take a week off training for extra recovery or use that week to catch up on a missed week.
May 7th start the 12-week Masters 40+ 100 Mile Mountain Bike Personal Record training plan and peak for Pivot 24 duo on July 28th. This is the best plan to prepare you for a 24-hour Duo event. This plan stack provides the endurance you need to finish along with the speed training to be competitive.

ParticipantThanks Lynda,
Very much appreciated and I will have a look at each plan on training peaks.
Good to see they will work on a free account as I tend to use golden cheetah to keep an eye on fatigue levels.
