MemberHola Lynda,
I would like to train using your plans to get back into cycling. I live in Costa Rica, great weather year around and I work from home so no time restrictions to train. I stopped riding 18 months ago and would like to get back to racing. I have done La Ruta twice, I understand what is

KeymasterJose,
If your performance would benefit from improved body composition (losing some fat) start with the Weight Loss and Base Training plan. If you are at the optimal body composition look at either the Category 2 Sport Base plan or the Category 1 Base plan to follow on with after your prep. The Cat 1 plan being the more aggressive option. Be honest assessing how much you have lost with 18 months off.
After a Base plan take a week for recovery. If you did the Cat 2 Sport Base Plan follow on with the 50 mile Finisher plan. If you did the Cat 1 Base plan follow on with the 50 miler PR plan.
Finally the 4 day stage race plan is designed specifically with La Ruta in mind and will be perfect.
Happy Training!

MemberHi linda,
I do need to lose some weight, I think the weight lose plan would be great.
1. After that should I do the 50 mile finisher plan?
Thanks.

KeymasterIf you are a Sport Cat 2 level rider do the 50 mile finisher plan. If you are an Expert Cat 1 rider do the 50 miler PR plan.
