ParticipantHey Linda,
I am a weekend warrior with a competitive side. On occassion I will mix in an endurance race. Back in 2010 while in the middle of a relocation I purchased your Winter Endurance Training plan (for 50 mile ?). I got about 2 weeks in and found it very hard to follow due to time constraints. Twelve weeks ago I pulled it out and have completed it. Wow. What an amazing difference it has made in my fitness. On September 8th I will be doing my first century road ride. I also have my sites set on a 6 hour MTB race which is November 10th. My thoughts are to buy the 6 Hour PR plan but wonder when to start. Should I foucs on long road rides and start the plan the week after the century or start the plan now. If I did the plan now are there long ride days during the first few weeks that would allow me to be ready for the century. Is the 6 Hour PR a good choice for me or should I just do the finisher version? Long term, I would like to do a 12 Hour race. That would most likely be in January of 2013.
Thanks

KeymasterThe 6-Hour Solo Mountain Bike – Personal Record Plan is the best plan to build on your fitness gained during the Winter Training Plan for Endurance Distance Mountain Bike Racers and to prep you for both your century ride and 6 hour solo.
I recommend starting the 6-Hour Solo Mountain Bike – Personal Record Plan today August 20th at week #1 on the plan. On Sept 8th do your century ride in place of the scheduled training session and on Sept 9th do a 60 min recovery spin instead of the scheduled session.
Week #12 is the final week on the plan and will bring you into peak race shape for your 6 hour solo on Nov 10th.
