MemberLynda,
I just purchased the Sport Base plan – very excited to get going.
I do use a powermeter on the road and trainer, using the cogan values am I correct to assume I should aim for an average watt rate that matches the middle of the range ? I am asking as some of prescribed the ranges are quite large (e.g moderate/hard pace has 60 watt range for me) so just want to make sure I don't aim too high / low.
As I am not starting cold into the base I was going to jump straight into a later week and then move to build, peak, race after about 8 weeks – or is it better to mix an match the weeks ?
Thanks
J.

KeymasterAim for the middle of the range. As you build strength and power you should edge towards the top of the range.
Jump straight into a later week and then move to build, peak, race after about 8 weeks if you already have at least 4 weeks of base training.
The Category 1 XC plans all contain power training guidelines.
