MemberHi Lynda,
I am doing the 100 mtb 1st time plan.
Some positive feedback:
Just finished week 5 and have been climbing, climbing and climbing some more based on your advice to prepare for the Park City P2P.
Initially I had trouble staying in zone 2 on the steeper climbs, but this weekend my HR was about 10 BPM lower on the steep stuff than a few weeks ago. Now I am right at the top end of zone 2 on average and can see how that will continue to come under control. COOL!
Question: In week 9 of my training Sunday August 12th is scheduled to be the 8 hour ride. I have a family reunion that weekend and will be traveling and unable to ride.
I could do the 8 hour ride before I go, Thursday Aug. 9th or wait until I get back and do it Tuesday Aug. 14th. (race is Sept 1st, end of week 12).
What do you recommend?

KeymasterI shall assume you are on the 100 Mile Mountain Bike Race – Finisher Plan. I do not have a 100 mtb 1st time plan.
Great to hear your aerobic efficiency has improved and you can ride in zone 2 now. That is a significant improvement that will improve your race day performance.
Doing the long ride on Tuesday is your best option.
