ParticipantLynda,
I purchased the 40+ 50 Mile PR plan. I’m starting it on March 13. The long range weather forecast in Massachusetts is not good for riding outside. What recommendations do you have for getting the most out of the plan on the trainer for the first 2-3 weeks?

KeymasterTom,
Wow, the weather across the nation has been tough for bike training this year so far!
I recommend riding the trainer indoors for the day 1 – 5 workouts every week. Cut down the warm-up and cool-down time to shorten the ride time but keep the intervals and tempo time unchanged.
For the longer weekend rides, do a combination of a short indoor ride and then add on something else outdoors that is more enjoyable than 4 hours hours on the trainer, like skiing or snowshoeing.
