ParticipantHi Lynda –
I am on day 8 or so of your cat 1 time crunched plan with quite a few races under my belt this year since I started with your plan
– next Sunday June 24th I have a race I would consider and A or B. I want to do well.
So…any advice on tapering for the event? The week of June 18th – do I start coming off your program? Ill do a pre ride on wednesday the 20th –
Let me know any thoughts.

KeymasterBase plan or Build, Peak and race plan?
By day 8 do you mean week #2 day 1?
What week # of the plan does June 24th fall on for you?

ParticipantBuild peak and race plan Cat 1 Time Crunched – and Yes as of today I am on Week #2 day 4 – so I have been on your plan for 12 days now.
By the 24th (race day) I would be 21 days into your plan if I stay on it this upcoming week. Thats why I was asking – on a race week – do I stick to your plan. or adjust it, or taper.

KeymasterDo an easy course pre-ride on Saturday June 23rd instead of the intervals. Otherwise stick to the plan.
Have a great race.

ParticipantHi Lynda – I was able to reset the password. Once we figure this out I will be able to move on with weeks preceding races.
You suggested that because I miss my Sunday rides, that I should do Sundays workouts on Mondays. Does that mean I should move the REST of the week a day forward?
Monday would be the 2.5 ride/Tues would be strength/wed would be hill repeats etc.
Just want to confirm with you. And can I substitute a hard pre ride of the race course on Wednesday instead of the hill repeats?

Lynda
KeymasterDo not move your entire week. Just flip flop Sun and Mon.
I recommend sticking to the plan on Wednesday. You can do your intervals on the race course if you like.

ParticipantHi Lynda thanks for writing back but I'm confused. Thanks for confirming not to move my whole week..but here's what it looks like.
Sundays ride was supposed to be 2.5 hours off road. I did that on Monday instead. So…..according to your plan tonite would be hill repeats..wednesday is right leg, left leg, thursday is off road start practice..so on and so forth.
If that's the case and you want me to do the hill repeats tonite..what happens tomorrow nite when I preride the course..and I hammer it? That's not in the plan.

KeymasterThis is correct:
Sundays ride was supposed to be 2.5 hours off road. I did that on Monday instead. So…..according to your plan tonite would be hill repeats..wednesday is right leg, left leg, thursday is off road start practice..so on and so forth.
I do not recommend doing a hammer course pre-ride on Wed – that is a mistake. Stick to the plan on Wed.
Do your Tue intervals on the race course if you like. Do your Thursday ride on the race course if you like. On neither of these days Tue or Thur hammer a lap on the race course. Save that juice for the real race.

Participanti think I got it –
what you did is gave me choices: I can do hill repeats tonite on my road bike, or…I can ride the race course and do some efforts there. Same goes for Thursday. you are giving me option to do my thursday race start practice on the actual course
thanks Lynda
