ParticipantHi Lynda, I recently heard about your training experience and plans. I’m a multisport athlete planning to race the TransAm Bike Race this year.
For several years I’ve been using a multisport training programs (sucha as 140.6 Ironmans and such) to build my general fitness. The results have been good, I’ve completed several ultramarathons and 2000km+ bikepacking trips in a range between 7-15 days.
However, the TABR is a bigger task.
I was wondering it the 5-10 days training plan could be easily adapted for road racing. If so, what approach would you recommend. The plan appeal to me from the bikepacking self-supported approach (not only the physical training but also the mental and logistics one).
On that note, I been doing my 36+ week IM training plan since october, so I’m well passsed my base block.
Thank you!
Rodrigo

KeymasterHi Ironrod,
Our 5 – 10 day Bikepacking Race Mountain Bike Training Plan will work well to train for TABR. The plan has a fair amount of “course specific” training. For you course specific means ride on terrain that mimics TABR during these sessions.
