ParticipantToday, unfortunately, I am having some GI trouble. Not too bad, but i feel pretty drained and not very good. I plan on racing on Saturday in a cross country cat 1 race. I am following the PR 50 miler plan. Today I have on my schedule 2 sets of 4×4 intervals in zone 5.
My question is:
Should i take the day off to completely recover? or should I ride easy for a shorter period of time?
Will this workout be a bad one to miss if I do miss it?
Thanks so much!

ParticipantSo, now I was wondering what kind of food I should stick to today as yesterday did not go well. I feel almost back to normal today, but tend to really have issues in the morning before a race anyway and dont want to dehydrate or something. Suggestions on foods today and tonight?
Thanks!

KeymasterThe best foods to stick to are the foods you eat in your normal routine. The key word of advice here is “normal”. Eat foods your body is used to and you know the response. Nothing new should go in your mouth on race morning.
