DaveKeymasterLynda,
Based on your advice, I'm stacking training programs in preparation for Breck Epic. I completed the Cat 1 Base Training Program and, starting Monday, will be starting the Stage Race Personal Record Program. I'll be skipping week 3 to make the timing work. I have 2 questions:
- I'm 42 y.o. Are there any modifications I should make to the program?
- On June 15-16 (end of my 3rd week (week 4 on the program)), I'll be racing 4 man at 24 Hours in the Enchanted Forest. Should I modify anything in week 4?
Thanks!

KeymasterBeing in the 40+ yr group you should pay particular attention and invest time and energy into your recovery habits. Read this doc Tools to Speed Recovery to see if there is anything you can add to increase your recovery speed from workouts.
Drop the day 6 test and day 7 ride from week #4 and do your race instead. No other week #4 changes required. In week #5 drop the Mon – Wed sessions and replace with naps and passive rest. Thur – Sat do recovery rides then do the scheduled Sunday ride.
If you are still tired in week #6 continue recovery before getting back on the plan as scheduled. Don't make up any missed sessions.
