    Lynda,
MTB Nats is coming up the weekend of May 11-12. I began your 40+ MTB base plan last week and am planning to move to the masters 50 mile MTB plan next. The problem is that I didn’t start early enough! I could give you all kinds of reasons why I waited to get going but they really don’t help create time. If I stack these plans one after the other I will be 6 weeks (yes, I know that is 25% of the scheduled time) past MTB nats. Do you have any recommendations as to where to pull from so I can still peak with some decent fitness?
I know this will not have me at my best, but CX is and always will be my primary focus. I just want to come into this with something.
    Thanks in advance,
    steve

    Hi Steve,

I recommend following the 40+ MTB base until 2/17. On 2/18 switch to the Masters 40+ 50 Mile Mountain Bike Personal Record Mountain Bike Training Plan and follow all 12 weeks of that plan to a peak at marathon nationals on 5/11.
