      Just finishing the last week of Masters Cross-Country Base training plan. Looking for the next 12 week block. Each day at BCBR will be around 3-6 hours. I was going to go with the Masters 50 mile mountain bike race – personal record plan next. Then I was going to follow that up with the 7 day mountain bike stage race – personal record. Sound reasonable?

      50 miler plan – 7 day SR plan is a good combo.

      I like this plan stack also:
      Masters 40+ Cross Country Mountain Bike Build Peak and Race Mountain Bike Training PlanMasters 40+ Mountain Bike 5-7 day Stage Race Mountain Bike Training Plan. This training plan stack will add speed and power more than endurance. You will have plenty of time to work on endurance in the 7 day SR plan. If your goal is to get faster, a speed focused block between your base and SR plan is a powerful combo.

      So, of course, BCBR has been postponed until the end of September. The question is do I repeat the Masters 40+ Cross Country Mountain Bike Build Peak and Race Mountain Bike Training Plan and then follow that with the Masters 40+ Mountain bike 5-7 day Stage Race Mountain Bike Training Plan?

      Or the Masters 40+ 5-7 day stage race followed by the personal best 7 day stage race plan?

      It’s great BCBR has postponed their event and not cancelled it! BC and Canada in general are doing a great job with their covid-19 responses overall.

      1. Where are you in your training cycle right now (what plan, which week?) ?
      2. What is the new BCBR date?

      I did a 12 week block of Masters Cross Country Base Training. I Just finished a 12 week block of Masters Cross Country Mountain Bike Build, Peak and Race. Yesterday was my “A” race on Zwift of all places. I would be starting a new 12 week block this week.

      The new BCBR dates are September 27th – October 3rd.

      I recommend doing 6 weeks base (weeks 7-12), 6 weeks bpr (weeks 7-12) then start your Stage race plan on 7/6 to peak for BCBR on 7/27.
