      Hi Lynda,
Just joined and purchased/started the “Time Crunched Cat 2 Sport XC” plan and have a few questions.

      #1 Stacking recommendations:
I am training for the Fire on the Rim race in Pine AZ. Race day is Sept 21 and I intend to do the 2 lap 30 miles. I just started the plan so I’m on week 1, day 4, so I have about 16 weeks to finish the 12 week plan. On top of that I plan to enter the Insomniac Night Ride Races on July 19 and August 9th. Both will be 3 hour lapped events which I have goals to finish 3 laps (~10 miles per lap, ~30 miles total). What can you recommend for stacking weeks?

      #2 Workout Modifications Week 2:
Week 2 (next week) I will be out of town and likely cannot bring my bike. I will be home and can complete through Week 2 day 3, but will be without a bike for days 4-7. I’m a runner and have no issues running up to ~10 miles at 10 min pace. Do you have a recommendation on how to replace those workouts, mix up the week, or even just restart week 2 the next week?

      Thanks!
      Micah

      Hi Micah,

      #1 Stacking recommendations:
To stretch out your plan to 16 weeks I recommend following all 12 weeks of the plan, then repeating weeks 9, 10, 11, 12 to peak at Fire on the Rim race on Sept 21.

Insomniac Night Ride Races on July 19 and August 9th fall on week 7 and week 10 of your plan. On these weeks:
      Mon-Wed, follow the plan.
Thursday, drop the intensity ride and do a 1 hour easy spin in zone 1 instead.
      Friday, race.
      Saturday, take the day off.
Sunday, 1 hour easy spin in zone 1.

      #2 Workout Modifications Week 2:
For week 2, switch day 3 and day 4 so you can ride twice before leaving town. For days 5-7, run for the same amount of time as scheduled and follow the plan on your feet.

      Coach Lynda
