MemberHi Lynda, I am currently using the cat 1 base plan (next is cat 1 bpr, then 100K) prepping for wilmington in June. I had just finished the first month of the program and was feeling great with marked improvements in just the first 4 weeks, then I got sick, along with my girls…anyway I was out for a week. This week I've tried to get back on the bike but it is really tough and exhausting, I'm still not feeling 100% and my motivation is zero so I thought getting back on the trainer for some easy spinning would help but what normally would not even be my Z1 effort has my HR almost to Z2 so I'm guessing my body just isn't ready yet. Would you agree?
Thanks 🙂

KeymasterAww bummer. Getting sick is no fun.
I agree you need more time to get healthy. It is important to give yourself this time so you don't push your body into something worse like Mono or pneumonia. Also, you can't build fitness when you are sick but you can bank rest. Do what you can do, which is rest.
