ParticipantI have been training with a power meter for several years now. I only do mountain biking, have completed Leadville 100 a couple times now, with they help of your plans I purchased several years ago. I now have a Stages Power Meter on my Mountain Bike and would like to use it to help me in pacing. What advice would you have regarding how to use the power meter while racing?
I will be doing the Leadville Silver Rush 50, and the Laramie Enduro this year. I just did my first race this weekend with the power meter. I also have the WKO+ software. Summary from weekend 11 hour race:
2min – 284W
10min – 243W
20min – 232W
60min – 210W
120min- 199WQuestions:
Would you Display 3sec, 10sec, or 30sec?How would you suggest using the power meter during the Silver rush 50 or Laramie Enduro race? Or should I not look at it?

KeymasterUsing a power meter is a great tool to set pacing goals and governors along with HR. I like to have on display HR, power and normalized power.
Definitely use your PM along with HR in your races. Use it to give you a target power to achieve on steady state portions of the course, like non-technical flats and climbs. Also use it as a governor to limit power spikes and over-pacing.
