MemberI am starting week 1 of 100 Mile Personal Record Training Plan.
I have a general question about modifying this plan specifically for the P2P.
I live in Park City so I can ride the course any time and last year I did your 100 mile mtb finisher plan. You told me to do all intervals climbing and all endurance rides on the course. Would the same apply to this plan?
Specifically, there are some road rides for the endurance days (i.e. week 5 day 7 “Road bike ride on a flat to gently rolling course”) should I do these rides on course?
Thanks!

KeymasterYes, ride the race course when the workout fits the terrain.
For recovery rides and when the terrain is specified to be flat to rolling the race course is inappropriate. Find a flat road or bike path for that session. The bike path out to Wanship would be perfect.

MemberI think I got it.
Weeks 1-3 days 6 and 7 on P2P course
Weeks 5-6 day 6 on P2P course day 7 on the flats.
Weeks 9-10 day 5 on the flats.
Recovery rides on the flats.
If that is the correct then I guess the only question at this point is in weeks 9 and 10 day 6… the “40-10-10 pattern” I assume that is the flats as well?
Thanks!

KeymasterYou got it.
Feel free to ride in other areas beyond the race course too. There are a load of fun places to ride in Utah.

MemberThanks. Yes, I will ride other places too.
I meant to say “trails similar to P2P course”. Funny after I sent that message I was wondering if you were going to think I meant ONLY the P2P course.
Okay, Just did my TT heart rate fit test and am ready to hit it!Thanks again. Your 1st time 100 mtb put me in good shape last year, so I am excited to take it to the next level.
