DaveKeymasterLynda – I have a little over a month left in our Cyclocross series, which concludes with our state championship. I've been doing the power CX workout you suggested but was wondering if Plyometrics or lower body weight training would be beneficial at this point. I have not been doing lower body weights at all this year, rather have been trying to build on the bike strength. For Plyo, I have done PlyoX in the past. I had mixed feelings as to whether the plyo really helped me in the past so I wanted to get your thoughts. I'm just trying to squeeze whatever I can out of the rest of the season to prepare for the best possible finish at the State Championships. The course does not suit me very well (roadie course), so I need whatever strength and power I can still gain.

KeymasterI recommend you keep the leg strength work on the bike for the next month. Do some big gear flat road short intervals 6 x 1 min (3-4 min rest).
