ParticipantJust a note. I originally grabbed your nica varsity plan for my NorCal Division 1 team, I used that to plan our 3x weekly rides and skills. Each ride would roughly end up delivering what was scheduled just by riding the route. Well…it’s not all the coaching of course, but we won the Div 1 NorCal team series, and the championships. FEAR THE TREE- we are the Redwood High School NORCAL Champs!
Boom. Kudos to that training program.I then picked up the 40+ 100mi mtb plan (I’m 58) to guide me at RPI. Goal was to finish, and not be last. Life did it damndest to get in way, but I stuck with it and did finish- 102 miles and 6100 feet and change, AND only 30 minutes behind my NICA daughter.
Thank you for two solid, reasonable plans. The 40+ plan was the first training plan I have ever had that seemed to include the rest I knew I needed.
QUESTION: Next year we’re doing the oregon trail gravel grinder, should I pick the mtb stage race plan?

KeymasterHi Steven,
Huge congrats to your NICA team for the series and state champs win – how awesome!!! Sounds like a great day at RPI too. What a fun season. Looks like your daughter is killing it too.
For the Oregon Train Gravel Grinder I recommend our 12-week Masters 40+ Mountain Bike 5-7 day Stage Race Mountain Bike Training Plan. For a solid 24 week plan stack you can do the 12-week Masters 40+ Mountain Bike Base Mountain Bike Training Plan prior to the stage race plan.
Thanks for the season report. That makes me so happy to hear about athlete successes.
