Hi Lynda. I am in the middle of the Masters base plan and this year I may do a few 4-5 hour races along with my typical 10 or so 1.5-2 hour XC races. My question is should I add an hour or so to my weekend L2 rides during the base plan or should I wait until the build and race plan and add hours to the race pace and L2 rides?
Start adding an hour or so to your weekend L2 rides 12 weeks out from your 4-5 hour race. Don’t add time to your race pace sessions if the 1.5-2.0 hour XC races are still your top priority.
