I am 61 years old and in decent physical condition. I plan on touring the Great Divide this August. We are planning 8-9 weeks to tour the complete 3000 miles from Jasper to Antelope Wells. I currently ride 33-37 miles, three times a week on my mountain bike. The average elevation gain is 1800 feet. I just started a rest day routine that incorporates a several yoga exercises – core strengthening. What is the best plan to better help me prepare for this trip. Note, the average day will cover approximately 50-60 miles.

I recommend starting with our 12-week Masters 40+ Mountain Bike Base Mountain Bike Training Plan to build a solid strength and fitness foundation. Then progress on to our 12-week 5 – 10 day Bikepacking Race Mountain Bike Training Plan to finish your Great Divide preparation.
