KeymasterJose,
12/20/10 start the Cat 1 Base training plan and follow weeks 1-10.
2/28/11 Start the 4 day stage race Personal record plan and follow weeks 1-12 through to a peak at Guanaride
5/23/11 – take a week off your bike
5/30/11 – take an easy spin recovery week
6/6/11 – Start the 50 miler (marathon) PR training plan and follow week 11 and 12 only of the plan
6/20/11 – Re-start the 50 miler PR plan and this time follow it week 1-12 to peak at LATIN AMERICAN MARATHON CHAMPIONSHIPS on 9/11
9/12/11 – take a very easy week off plan
9/19/11 – Start the 4 day stage race personal record plan and follow weeks 6-12 to peak at La Ruta
Sounds like a great season!

KeymasterJim,
You have your timing set up nicely. Finish off your base plan.
3/28 – start your build peak and race plan and follow it through to the end
6/20 – repeat week 12 of the Build peak and race plan and race the 12 hour at the end of the week
6/27 – take a deep recovery week off plan
7/4 – start the 100 miler plan at week #4 of the plan and follow it to week #12 and Shenandoah 100 race day.

KeymasterSarah,
Do the same as the Leadville 100 athletes. Here is the advice for them //lwcoaching.com/?p=1094
The only difference for you is to chop weeks 2 and 3 out of the first plan to shorten it my 2 weeks instead of one to fit your race scehdule.

Hi Lynda,
I was informed today that the Guanaride has been cancel. That leaves me with only La Ruta MTB stage race this year. I don't mind doing everything as you already suggested to get the endurance training early in the year.
I ended week 3 of the 4 Day Mountain Bike Stage Race today.
Should I keep going with my training as planned?
Thanks
Jose.

Lynda
KeymasterWill you replace the stage race with another stage race event?

JoseGU
MemberNot possible, that was the only race for that weekend, stage race or otherwise. The two only MTB stage races we have in CR are La Ruta and Guanaride, so no luck.

Lynda
KeymasterI recommend following the 50 miler plan if you have no stage race to train for.
