ParticipantHi Lynda,
I'm in week 11 of the 40+ PR 50 mile plan, with the Ouachita challenge coming up on April 5. I have generally followed the plan pretty closely, except for a few long rides, mainly due to winter weather in the Midwest.
My next race is May 17 (Syllamo's revenge) – my question is how do I transition from the April 5 race to prep for May 17 (6 weeks later)?
My thought is to re-start week 7, possibly cutting back the Day 2 workout to 2×15 L4 (instead of 3×15)…although even that may be too little recovery.
Am I on the right track?
Thanks again,
Bill

KeymasterBill,
Good luck with your race next week!
I recommend starting back on week #6, a rest week. Miss out week #7 and move forward with 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 to peak again for Syllamo's.
These are both hard races and require significant recovery. Going straight into week #7 would not allow for that.
