Have a great race. I look forward to hearing all about it.

Best tip is to read this:

Dave does a masterful job with describing the course changes for 2013. There are a few significant ones.

Well, I did it!!!!! It just happened yesterday, so I am a little worn out to say the least, but it went well.  One thing I was really amazed by was how my little engine was able to keep going even though I was mentally exhausted.  My legs found power and strength beyond all my expectations, and I have no one but you and your plan to thank for that!!!

I started out in control and fueling on a good time schedule to come through the Silver Lake feed station strong and focused.  After that, I began to get a bit sick to my stomach from all of the sweet fuel I was taking in.  After the descent into Daly canyon, I started to feel better and caught a lot of air and had a blast coming down the T&G trail and Corvair to Sams.  I began to feel sick again before going into Johns trail, and even wiped out a couple of times and thought I may not make it even to the Park City aid station, but oddly enough, I recovered on the drift trail….weird.  My legs began to feel as though they were operating on auto pilot and just doing thier job.  My heart rate found a nice steady low zone 3 where I was able to hold it until about the canyons where I dropped into zone 2 and finished with that.  The mental toughness it took to accomplish that race was not to be under estimated.  Yes, I was also “Ambushed”, and when I came upon some hikers coming down that joked it was all up hill from there, I almost pushed them over.  On Holly's I was so ready to be done, I was passing downhill riders like they were standing still.  I finished in 9 hours and 40 minutes and came in fourth in my group.  I believe I was the 13th girl overall to cross the line! That would mean if everyone started, I even beat a good part of the Pro women group…..not sure yet as I havent seen how many finished, but around 40 women were signed up.

Today, I am sore, but already coming around and moving well.

Thank you Lynda, for a great season finale!
