      Lynda,

This coming week (starting 5/12) will be Week 12 on the Cat 1 Build plan. I’m planning to start the 7 Day Stage Race PR Plan in preparation for the Breck Epic. This is all on a geared bike.

Should I take a rest week between plans? I feel great, but I’ve read plenty of posts here and I think you’re going to say yes. 🙂

Assuming that is the case, there will be 11 weeks until Breck. I also have two races I’m registered for in July. I don’t intend to go all-out in either of them, but they’ll be pretty taxing regardless. Here are some dates:

Crusher in the Tushar (7/12) – week 7
      High Cascades 100 (7/19) – week 8
      Breck Epic (8/10) – week 11

Can you let me know whether to take a rest week, and how to trim the plan if so? Should I modify anything given those back-to-back tough races?

Thanks for your help. I’m excited for a summer full of big training and races!

Roll straight into the Stage race plan if you are feeling healthy and great.

That puts Crusher on week 8, HC100 on week 9, and BE on week 12.

To fit Crusher and HC100 without getting smoked do week #12 instead of week 8 and again week #12 instead of week 9. By doing this you will gain fitness through these two races.

      6/30 week 07
      7/07 week 12
      7/14 week 12
      7/21 week 10
      7/28 week 11
      8/04 week 12
