ParticipantHi Lynda,
Per your direction I am stacking the Category 1 Cross Country Mountain Bike Base Training Plan, the Category 1 Cross Country Mountain Bike Build, Peak and Race Training Plan, and the 7-Day Mountain Bike Stage Race – Personal Record Plan to peak for Breck Epic stage race in August 2013.
I have completed the base training plan and am currently in a rest week before starting the build peak race plan. I have a vacation planned in St George, UT in a few weeks which will be during week 2 of the build peak race plan. If I do 5-6 day rides of probably a min of 3hrs each for fun that week (weather permitting) should I worry about the week 2 plan with intervals/sprints/etc or will the volume ensure I dont get set back?

KeymasterDitch the training plan and the intervals and have fun riding for the week. You may need to add in extra recovery time post vacation before you can get back on the quality work and intervals.
Shoot me a note when you are in town and I may be able to ride with you for a day if it fits my schedule I live in St George.
