MemberI've been Crossfitting for about 5 months now as a way to get in some strength and conditioning in a short amount of time. I noticed you have started up recently as well, so you might be able to comment. Up until recently, CF hasn't really impacted riding nor has riding really impacted CF. I've raced a bit while doing it. Until about a week ag, however, I am finding that my muscles just aren't recovering the way they used to … by which I mean, the soreness and muscle fatigue never really goes away like it has in the past. The effort just lingers. I've cut down CF to 3-4 days a week to give me time, but the muscles don't seem to bounce back. Nor the energy. I seem to constantly experience DOMS.
Do you have any muscle recovery recommendations? CF people suggest Amino Acids and upping my protein? I should add that I follow a Vegan Diet, but I am pretty careful about food intake and protein and all that.
Thanks,
M

KeymasterI recommend taking 2 weeks off Crossfit to give your muscles a deep recovery period. Crossfit does not have recovery built into their schedule. To train on your bike and do Crossfit you need to self-regulate that aspect.
I find Crossfit heavily impacts my riding and training. I Crossfit for bone density and not cycling performance. I do not believe Crossfit improves cycling speed. It has other benefits that may be a priority for you.
