ParticipantHey Lynda,
I just finished the cat 1 base plan, and am on day 4 of my 100 mile personal record plan. I took the week off between as perscribed and went on a trip with my family. It was a long road trip with absolutely no excersize except walking around.
My question is, ever since I got home, i have felt extremely tired and lathargic. It could be that I am getting sick, not sure as its not manifesting…..what do you suggest as far as training? As I have said, nothing is really manifesting as far as a specific sickness, but I could sleep all day if I could.
Thanks!

KeymasterYou may be getting sick so keep an eagle eye out for that and back off the training as soon as symptoms appear.
Shut down and lethargy can happen after a rest week. The best remedy for this is to get back into training and allow your body a few days to ramp back up by putting in about an 80% effort in your first two training sessions. I bet you will find you are back on form within 3 rides and will feel the benefits of your rest week. It is a good plan to postpone your power test until your body has opened back up again.
