ParticipantHello Lynda,
As you know, I had to make changes to my season before it really even got started. My focus changed from NUE singlespeed to gears to 4-5 hour gravel to just training however I feel with no real race focus.
I currently have your SS XC Base, Build, Peak plan loaded into Training Peaks. I started on the plan a while back but with health issues, vacations, not much racing planned, I backed off and started training without much structure. I have been able to maintain and even made gains so I am in good shape. Since I still have issues with my back (taking time off the bike in Nov. and Dec. to see if it helps), I am focusing on finishing out the season targeting ~4 hour gravel races on gears.
Here are the dates:
08/24 Savage CX – Went very well.. good fitness.
09/14 Pisgah Monstercross
09/22 Three Peaks
09/27,28,29 Hellhole Gravel Stage, (TT, ~4hr, ~4hr)
10/05 Wilsons Revenge
I really only have one small block to squeeze in some last minute training. I have week 10 of the SS XC plan loaded for this week. What changes would be best to make to this plan in order to find a little more fast? I'm assuming I should replace the XC starts and Tech Skills for something else, but what? I am open to any suggestions that you may have and as always appreciate the advice!
