    Hi Coach Lynda,

    I am finishing my first week of your Masters Cross Country Base Training Plan and wow, my legs have not done squats in a while! I follow this up with your Mater’s 100 mile race plan and then a 100k MTB race on July 13th.
    Within this context, I am considering a charity road ride taking place June 14th-16th and wondering if this would be too ambitious prior to my race? Would this be too much? would I have enough recovery time? Here are the 3 day details:
    Day 1: (approx. 57 mi)
    Day 2: (approx. 61 mi)
    Day 3: (approx. 62 mi)

    Hi Kemahaff,

    I’d like to clarify your timing. Is this correct?

    3/4 – Start 12 week Masters Base plan
    5/26 – End 12 week Masters Base plan

    5/27 – Start Masters 100 miler plan
    6/14-16 – 3 day charity event in week 3 of Masters 100 miler plan
    7/13 – Race 100 km MTB race in week 7 of Masters 100 miler plan

    Do I understand your timing correctly?

    One small change on when i would end the based plan…

    3/4 – Start 12 week Masters Base plan
    4/14 – end 12 week masters base plan after 6 weeks. Week 7 is optional rest, or another week of base training.

    4/27 Start Masters 100 miler plan
    6/14-16 – 3 day charity event in week 3 of Masters 100 miler plan
    7/13 – Race 100 km MTB race in week 7 of Masters 100 miler plan

      4/27 Start Masters 100 miler plan

      4/27 is a Saturday. Are you starting the Masters 100 miler plan on a Saturday?

      A 3 day charity event does not fit in week 3 of the Masters 100 miler plan as it is a rest week.

      Your 7/13 race week is best done in plan week 12 not week 7 if it is a priority event for you.

      Sorry, I still don’t understand your timing and am blank on what you will be doing the week of 4/22 and how if you start the Masters 100 miler plan on 4/27 you get to plan week 3 on 6/14 and week 7 on 7/13. Please lay it out for me week by week if you would like me to understand your plan enough to make specific recommendations on how to make adaptations to fit your charity event into your season.

      If you start the Masters 100 miler plan on 4/22, the Charity event falls in week 8 and your race falls in week 12 which is much better timing overall.
