ParticipantHi. I'm wondering which plan would be best for someone preparing to do a bikepacking race that should take approx. 24 hours. I know the bikepacking plan is designed for that format of racing but I am wondering if the 24hr pr plan would be better for short (~24hr) bikepacking races.
Which plan would be best?
Thanks again,
Bryan

KeymasterBryan,
I recommend the 24-Hour Solo Mountain Bike – Personal Record Plan for an event that will take 24 hours. With that short duration you will not need to take much gear or need the logistic and packing preparation exercises from the bikepacking training plans. The 24 hour plan in more accurate.

ParticipantThanks Lynda. Does the 24hr plan have more speed work than the azt plan?
I’m also signed up for a 6 hour mtb race about three weeks after the bikepackng event. I have the 6hr pr plan. After the ultra race should I take an easy week then follow the last two weeks of the 6hr plan?

KeymasterYes, the 24 hour plan has a lot more speed work. The bikepacking plan has multi-day practice which you don't need.
Yes, after the ultra race should take an easy week then follow the last two weeks of the 6hr plan.
