Lynda,

I have not ridden or exerted myself at all this week. Today and tomorrow will be the hardest since I am off work and the weather is just so beautiful! I feel like a new person (no soreness or fatigue)!!! I truly believe that I am ready to get back to training/racing.  I have closely watched my diet and it is well balanced . I will up the calories a bit when I return to riding on Monday. My question for you is this; The 12 hours of Mesa Verde is on May 12th. I have already paid the entry fee, taken time off work the week of the race and reserved a hotel. Is it too soon to tell how I should approach this race? The Gunnison Growler is the race after 12 hours Mesa Verde (two weeks after) and I really want to improve on my finish there last year. Even if I “race to place” at Mesa Verde do you think the time in between the two races is enough to recover? ***(I decided to do the 12 hours of Mesa Verde to increase my base/endurance since it was two months after True Grit and two months before Breck 100)*** Am I wrong in thinking that the 12 hour race will make me stronger if I am wise about recovering from it prior to the Growler?*** I think I have a more than sufficient endurance-base due to the True Grit preperation. Just looking for some guidance. I don'’t want to jump the gun or anything but this week off has really solidified my motivation for this season. I know I did some things right to take 4th at True Grit.

I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond. Thank you!
