This was not one of my goal races this year (XC is my focus), but it was hard to resist doing the race for the sheer beauty of the Black Hills. The day before was gorgeous with blue sky and temps in the mid-80’s. Race day was cold, overcast, rainy and had me in survival mode. I did manage to trim about 14 minutes off of my 2012 time, and that’s just from XC race training with the Master’s Plan that Lynda wrote. Maybe next time I should use an endurance race plan….
