Lynda,
I'm on the 50 mile PR plan. I did my 2nd TT and my results were slightly lower but my average heart rate was about 4 beats higher. This 2nd TT was done one week after doing a solo 12 hour race and a difficult week at work. Should I be concerned or just attribute the 2nd TT results to these external factors?

What are results? What results? It is tough to comment without knowing.

Lynda,
Sorry, I wasn't sure if you needed the results. Here they are. Applicable numbers are averages.
1st TT
- HR 167
- Dist 6.73
- Cad 101
- Spd 20.2
2nd TT
- HR 171
- Dist 6.68
- Cad 103
- Spd 20.0

Those numbers are close enough to call the two tests equal. Power data would give a little more clarity.
I recommend splitting the difference in heart rates and setting your LTHR at 169bpm

Thanks, Lynda. Should I be concerned that my numbers did not improve? I think it may be due to the fact that I did a 12 hour solo the wknd before and I've been very busy at work. I'm thinking I should just stick to the plan and go for it. What do you think?
Jeff
P.S. I enjoy your plan and believe it is helping.

Certainly you will still be carrying fatigue from the 12 hour solo. You should not be concerned. If your heart rate was lower there might be a concern.
